Sweet Corn ‘Best in Years’
Abundant rainfall and summer heat spurred rapid growth of numerous crops this area, and cultivators of sweet corn are reaping their best harvests in years. While a few farmers across Pennsylvania’s northern tier and the western part of the state lost some early corn to a mid-May frost, previous years had been excessively wet or too hot and dry.
