I will initially make a

I will initially make a personal comment and then make a correction involving myself in this situation. I feel the our Board President handled the meeting most appropriately. This was indeed a serious and very sensitive issue for the parents and students involved -- not to mention very concerned School Board members. As I have found numerous times over my career as an administrator, individuals coming to school and/or Board meetings need to get their concerns out before productive discussions may transpire. I commend her for letting the parents voice their views. Now, as to the correction. I visited the incident scene as reported, at my request. I arrived at the District Office, the morning following the Board meeting, and indicated my desire to see where this (the incident) had all happened. Consequently, Dr. Mummau, the Business Manager, Transportation Director and myself made the visit. I was not involved in any meeting that may have transpired with the bus contractor thereafter and have no knowledge at this date of what may have occurred in that meeting. Thank you. Richard M.
