Kathleen Christini

Mrs. Kathleen R. Christini, 73, of Dushore, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness at the Williamsport Hospital.

Katie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on Feb. 16, 1946, in Towanda, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rachel I. Kelley Touschner. She graduated from the Sullivan County High School, a member of the Class of 1964.

She married Theodore P. Christini of Mildred on Dec. 30, 1967.

Katie graduated from Mansfield College and managed Redifer Dining Hall at Penn State University. She attended many auctions and sold antiques at shows and through her store, Olde House Antiques, which she operated for years.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren who loved to spend time with her and loved her dearly. She made her home a special place for them. Family was very important to her, seen in how lovingly she cared for her husband Ted these many years. She remained very active with her high school class alumni. Many friends were welcomed at her farmhouse with wonderful cooking and hospitality.

Katie loved to cook and garden. She led 4-H groups for many years and coached the high school cheerleading squad. She was a passionate quilter and loved hosting the annual quilting retreat.

Surviving family members include her husband, Ted Christini at home; son and daughter-in-law, Tony Christini and Katy Ryan of Morgantown, WV; daughter and son-in-law, Tara Christini and William Weychert of Lansdale, PA; sister, Jane Johndrow of Lancaster, PA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Joyce Christini of State College, PA; sister-in-law, Lucille Christini of Towanda; grandchildren, Justin and Elena Weychert and Vincent Christini Ryan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by brothers-in-law, James N. Christini of Towanda and Francis R. Johndrow of Roanoke, VA.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, her pastor, as celebrant.

Family and friends called at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Interment will be held at a later date in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore.

Arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water Street, Dushore.
