Wyalusing School District to Dismiss Early Today

By Rocket Staff

Students and faculty at the Wyalusing School District will be dismissed two hours early today, Sept. 15, due to water issues, according to Superintendent Chester Mummau.

A notification from Mummau says robo-calls will be distributed to parents shortly and media outlets have been notified.

All after-school activities are canceled with the exception of the cross-country meet away at Northeast Bradford.  Activity buses will not operate today. Headstart will also dismiss early.

The NTCC students will attend NTCC and transportation is being provided at 3:30 p.m.

Mummau said teachers may finish their workday at home or elsewhere off-campus if they wish, but are asked to assist all students being picked up first.

The water issues are due to a failed water pump, which is being replaced today and “should be in good order” for tomorrow, according to Mummau. In the event indoor restrooms can no longer be used, there are portable toilets on the soccer field behind the elementary school and on the football field at the high school.
