The Northmoreland Fire Company will be holding a benefit spaghetti dinner on June 28 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the fire department located at 1618 Demunds Road in Centermoreland. Weird Animals Vacation Bible School hosted at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church will be held from July 7 to 11, from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Kids from three years old to sixth grade, as well as high school and adult volunteers and special class for adults to attend. The Second Sunday Vesper Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, corner of Church and Chestnut Streets, Montrose at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Hayden Brungess will offer special music. A simple meal will be served in the Parish House following the ecumenical service.

Classes

The PA Motorcycle Safety Program is offering classes for area residents to learn to ride a motorcycle. Information is available at www.pamsp.com. A motorcycle permit is needed in order to register for a class. Participants will need to go to a PennDOT Driver License Center and obtain a motorcycle learner’s permit before registering for a class.

Dances

Round and Square Dance will be held at the Wysox Fire Hall, Saturday, June 21, 7 until 11 p.m. Music by Sara. Refreshments available.

The WVHS Class of 1951 will meet for lunch on Friday, June 20 at noon at Mark’s Valley View in Laceyville.

Festivals

Strawberry Festival - June 19, 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Wysox ambulance garage, Rt. 187, South, Wysox. Take-outs will be available along with macaroni salad, sloppy joes, hot dogs and chili dogs, strawberry shortcake, strawberry sundaes, coffee, tea and soda.

Memorial Hospital’s monthly bereavement support group schedule for 2014 will continue to meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m., located in the library on the lower level of Memorial Hospital, Towanda. The group follows the book by James Miller, What Will Help Me? and other authors’ writings related to grief and loss. The support group is open to those who have experienced loss and is facilitated by Trudy Ventello, LSW, a social worker with Memorial Hospital’s Hospice program. Pitch Tournaments

Pitch Players: Get your teams together. Judy Johnson is holding a pitch tournament on Sunday, June 29 in the Elks Lodge banquet room in Towanda. Sign-up time is 12:30, playing time is 1 p.m. There will be refreshments there and food for you to purchase.

Reunions

The Fassett Reunion is being held at the Creek Junction Park in Forkston on July 27 at 12:30 p.m. Bring a dish to pass, table service, beverage, tablecloth and a silent auction item, wrapped, to auction off. Please bring any history in writing of any marriage, birth or death announcements to update Fassett family records.

The annual Kipp-Dickerman Hite reunion will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at the home of Marcia Kipp Hallett, 234 Warren Center Road, Warren Center. Hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls and cold beverages provided. Bring dish to share. Bring swimsuits and towels if you’d like to swim. Also, bring a homemade family craft or baked good item to raffle. The proceeds go to next year’s reunion.

Wyalusing Rams Elementary Girls’ Basketball Summer program. All girls entering grades three through six in the fall of 2014 at Layman Gym at WVHS. This program replaces annual clinic and is free. Tours

The Tioga Point Museum is hosting a fundraising tour showcasing 10 private, local gardens on Sunday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s tour highlights the diversity of these exceptional gardens, which vary in size, style and personality. A reception with refreshments will be available on the grounds of the museum following the completion of the self-guided tour. Music will be provided by harpist, Theodore Davenport.
